  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp orange extract (optional)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glazes)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for white glaze)
  • 23 tbsp fresh orange juice (for orange glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Mix in the orange zest and juice. Gradually add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Prepare the white glaze by whisking powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Prepare the orange glaze by whisking powdered sugar with fresh orange juice until glossy; drizzle over cooled cake.
